How to no which houses have log/multi fuel burners?

1) Wait for a cold day

2) Go look at the chimney .... gas boilers emit 'hot air' / steam .. so if the 'colour' of the smoke = none (or 'white' i.e. steam) then it's a gas boiler, if it's any other colour == it's not gas....

3) You can also SMELL wood smoke / coal smoke ... although I do appreciate that it's hard to detect one house from the next door ...

4) Why not call at a house in each street (that's pushing out clouds of black smoke) and ASK THEM which of their neighbours use wood /coal ??

PS It's a good idea to take a map with you and mark the houses you identify as wood/coal == this will come in handy later when you want to do another 'promotion' but it's not cold enough to see who has what (eg during the summer ..)

Good Luck !!

Unfortunately you have set yourself quite a task with this one, however most of the time you can see when passing a house if they do tend to have a general fire place or in fact a log burner.

Simply posting your flyers to all may encourage people to get a log burner anyway

Log burners are amazing and i love mine, I have found that I have been able to get lots of different Firewood Logs including Hardwood Logs such as and Oak

Good Luck

Without moving to the 19th century, you might check for back garden wood piles and chimney characteristics with satellite photos from Google maps.

flyers are generally dirt cheap to have printed

so you dont bother finding out, you just put one through every letter box

if you are putting out flyers, canvass your area regardless of the source of the fuel, you don't need to know, you just want to get your services out to as many as you can

I work for our family run business and ive got a load of flyers printed up the plan is to post them in the houses which have log burners or something similar because on the flyers is bundles of logs, bags of coal etc, i cant just go around looking at peoples chimneys because if their boiler is on then the fumes coming out of the chimney may be the boiler and not the log burner, any ideas on how i can find out which houses in a few mile radius of me have log burners so therefore i can post them a flyer and hopefully get some sales, no negative or sarcastic comments please, thanks
