I'm sorry to say, having 5 posts in the last 6 months is not an indication of someone with a passion, as is, the site really doesn't deserve much attention, a motivated Blogger would be adding original quality posts a couple of times a week, treat it more like a publishing business and you may earn a following one day. While original text (hopefully a full 500 word article now and then) are best for attracting search engines, using more images, perhaps for a legal free source will give more of a magazine appearance.
Learn basic SEO techniques so you cen become more prominent in the search engines, links from other sites (backlinks) remain one of the major search rank factors that you can influence, take care abuses like buying links, exchanging links and getting suddenly getting massive number of links can all get a site penalized.
