How to rent out my house?

No. it's your property, you can do what you want. But it would be wise for you to create some kind of contract for the renter to agree to. That way if, let's say they caused damage, they would have to pay the amount worth in damage. I'm no property manager, but you should get my point.

The reason why you get apartments when searching for info is because those are rent only. You will be owning the double house, where as apartments can only be rented.

You typically do not need a license to rent out property you own. Some metro areas have some permit requirements & such but that is not common in a small town. If you are going to be a landlord you need to know the landlord tenant laws for PA. Just search for "landlord tenant law PA" & you should get some info.

You do not need a license in a two family home.

you might have to get an annual occupancy inspection on the rental unit and pay an annual landlord license - contact town hall for details

I live in a small area Danville, PA. I am going to buy a double house and want to rent out the other half. I am wondering do I need a special license? There seems to be a lot of small renters so I don't think they all have one. Also is there a good sight to get information about renting out? Every time I search it just comes up with apartments to rent.

Thank you.
