How will eviction affect me?

How was she able to remove herself from the lease, legally, without your consent?

1. This will trash your brand new credit for the next 7 years.

2. Yes, moving out doesn't absolve you from fulfilling the requirements of the lease. The landlord/complex may continue to charge you until the apartment is re-rented but you will owe past rent and rent until that time.

3. You will get a pay or quit notice. If you don't pay, a formal eviction will be filed through the court system and you will be ordered to vacate the apartment. If you don't, the sheriff's department will come, evict you from the apartment, and place all of your belongings at the curb.

eviction will cost landlord about a thousand bucks..figure you already owe them 600 ...they don't want to go to court to kick you out that's more money down the drain...the roommate leaving isn't the worst think to do...it still goes on her record because you will both be evicted...plus, you don't want to stay without paying anyway.....so leave, make an arrangement to pay what YOU owe..and let them sue your roommate in small claims court....probably won't do that because you can't pay at this point anyway..how does court work...having an evict action filed against you is as bad being evicted...housing court does not award money...small claims court awards money...but the court does not collect...a judgement is bad but the land lord may not file it..Go to your bank...you need 300 bucks..open a secured credit card account....PAY BILLS ONTIME EVERY TIME....that's how you build credit...make another post or contact me...not sure if I can accept emails...not sure how to set that up...i'll help if I can....almost been evicted; rent from a slum lord....also am a landlord...I know how things work from experience....

She can't have removed herself from lease without your signature. Legally does not work that way.

Yes, your credit will take a hit if you get evicted. Yes, you still owe them. They take you to court, court awards them an eviction, you leave by date the court sets or they physically remove you.

You can leave before the landlord files for eviction.

She cannot "remove" herself from the lease without your consent.

I would pay the move-out fee of $800.

how did she "remove herself from the lease"??? Only the landlord can do that and if rent is owed, he's not going to let anyone off. you will have a credit history if they report it to the credit bureaus

So my roommate and I are both working part-time jobs and we are facing eviction, we have been busting are asses to make the late rent but are not making it and our deadline is pretty much here.

My roommate didn't want eviction on her record so she removed herself from the lease and literally packed up overnight and left.

I am now stuck with the lease. I have never been evicted ever so I don't know what I'm looking at.

I have so many questions:

I'm not sure if this helps but I am renting from a apartment complex, not from a person.

1. I don't have any credit, I'm a ghost in the credit system, will it create a bad score or will I still remain a ghost?

2. Do I still have to owe them money even when I have moved out and gave them their keys back?

3. Simply what will happen, what happens when you're facing eviction with a apartment complex?

I don't care if you type out 10 paragraphs long, I just really need to know what happens to people facing eviction because I've never faced eviction so I don't know what happens at all.

Thank you for your responses.
