I need some quick thoughts herer??10 points best answer?

The big question you need to address if when you tell you parents you plan to move out of their house, would they continue to pay for your education?

Normally when a person move out on their own, they take full financial responsibility for their welfare.

If you are planning to move, why would you want the people that are making your life miserable and is causing your grades to drop, pay for your education.

I take it their money is not causing the woes in your life, only living with them.

All parents are over protective and would not want to see their children in any situation that would place them in any harm. You see parents have been through what you are going through. Most know the results and would not want the results to happen to you.

This is called love.

It might benefit you if you would sit down with your parents and explain how you feel, the need for additional responsibility in making decisions on your own. It might be that your parents still see you as the 12 year old son, in short pants and not the one that is attending college and is all grown up.

in answer to your question, How is your income broken down? Weekly, bi-weekly or monthly? As a teenager I would think your income is probability monthly.

If this is the case you are using approximately 40% of your income for a place to stay. Now you have insurance (health and renters) You indicted you had no vehicle. food and entertainment as well as a savings account for any possible emergencies that might arise.

In adding these expenses together, you may live off the $1000 per month, but if for some reason you are laid off from this job, or is not able to work because of an illness of prolong lay off it would be back home with the people that is making life miserable for you.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

"FIGHT ON"

How much do you make each month? Most LL's want to see 3x the rent for income.

Have you fully checked out the neighborhood?

$415 per month inc utilities - are you going to be renting a room from someone? If you are renting a room in an apartment, be sure you are approved for residency by the management.

Are your parents going to continue to pay for your education if you move out? You might want to check on that, otherwise you'll have to figure out how to pay for your own tuition and books.

BTW, Welcome to the Grown-up World. It's not all "giggles and grins" here.

Sigh... another 18 year old whose parents are "ruining their lives." You want to be "independent" yet your parents are paying for your education.

What you do is stay at home until you are actually financially prepared to move out. Waiting for your next paycheck is not a sign of financial preparedness.

Next six months save every dime while staying at parents house. Then start looking at garage sales for pots and pans, chairs tables and beds. Keep looking for a cheaper place.

A couple of questions first:

Is that $1,000 weekly, biweekly or monthly? Is it ongoing? If you move out, will your parents continue to pay for school? Do you have any savings just in case?

Most places require 3 months rent up front (first, last, security)

Go for it! Taking that first jump out of the nest is a big one, but we all have to do it.

Good luck with getting on your own feet! :)

Yeah just move out like really whats the worst that could happen.

first, will they continue to pay for school.

Is that income on going?

im 18,in college, and found a place to stay for $415(including utilities), and im getting my paycheck next friday, and it'll be about $900-$1000. will i have enough to move out? i need to move out of my parents house ASAP!! they're overprotective, have ruined my life, affecting my grades, social life, and mental well being! i dont have a car, so i dont need to pay for gas, and the rent includes all utilities. What do i do?

p.s the only thing id need to pay for besides rent is my phone and food. i use public transportation, and they pay for school.
