Meet you a pretty young southern belle and raise you a few pups?
That's good man that's real good.
Well look here, down here in Georgia we got plenty of small town places with great southern folk with down south hospitality and some of the best good eating you could ever ask for.
I would reccomend Mcdonough, ga for their great schools true southern folk, modernized but still have that small town feel. Also not to far from Atlanta so you can take the wife out shopping or the rugrats on a field trip to the aquarium or many more of the great things to do there.
But if you want even more county living look into Dublin, Ga (true southern living)
Griffin ga or perhaps even Vidalia.

Research some small towns & then request a Newcomer's Info Packet from the Chamber of Commerce.
Look for areas up to an hour away from major cities for jobs, shopping & lower housing costs.
Take a vacation, drive through and apply for some jobs along the way in places that you think would be cool to try. If you have marketable skills you can even apply for some jobs online in areas that you might like. The South itself is quite diverse so it is hard to just say this or that place might be what you are looking for.
So, move. And stop living in a stereotype, because that's just weird. Every place has its unique charms - go down there (perhaps for college, or just save money and head down yourself) and see where you feel comfortable settling into.
