I would like to start a handyman service help me?

Print off some flyers listing the type of work you can do. Put 'Free Estimates' at the bottom. Put your landline and mobile no. on the sheet. Spend an evening popping them through letter boxes.

You can't. If you had really been a builder's labourer since age 15, you would already know what to do in terms of offering your basic skills to the members of the public. You would already have the contacts and know what sort of customers to look for and how. I suggest you go back to being a builders labourer for another 5 years but this time look around you, see where the customers stay, what services they require and make friends with them. Finally when you quit from the builder, you can offer his customers your services for a cheaper price.

Local parish magazine, just used a carpenter and a plasterer who advertise in ours, the gardener we use also advertises in there as do a couple of handyman services, cheapest way of reaching a lot of people! People do tend to look at them to see what's happening locally

so you can fix light switches.. can you fix a cement step?

what about part of a counter top that is currently duct taped?

you should list all your services of what you can and can not offer.

becuase if i'm unclear what a basic job is i'm sure other potential clients are unsure.

so be clear and simple.

then advertise! put a price on it. Beat other prices in the area!!

I'm 20 and have been a builders labourer since I was 15, and been doing handyman services too, I would like to set up a general handyman business I've got a very good understanding in all basic jobs. And I'm not talking about building extensions or knocking walls down, just general handyman maintenaince, how could I go about this? Only positive answers please
