Never fall for these companies.

Go to a library or a bookstore and get a book on

How to create and patent my idea.

The lady that did spanx did it almost all herself except for all the legal paperwork at the end.

The lady from spanx is now a millionaire.

You do NOT need "a company" to get a patent. Ever. You may need some legal advice to get you started or to get you through sticky parts of the process (e.g., overcoming rejections or objections). But you would have already used your "patent pending" on your invention by then to rustle up some energetic investors to pay for your legal fees, filing fees, R&D, tooling, and other startup costs to get going on your new venture...

Consult with a patent attorney, often initial consultations are "free", and find out what they suggest.

You can do it yourself, but I've heard it takes a lot of research (to confirm there isn't already a similar patent & yours is different than all other patents!), and then correctly filing out the patent application with accompanying documentation. That's what a good patent attorney is often used for.

Nolo Press has a book you should look into: Patent It Yourself. Check you your local library to see if they have one!

Contact A patent attorney right now.

I'm looking to patent something, does anyone have any advice? I hear that companies that are supposed to help on this process only have a 3% success rate so its a rip off. I saw a class on "inventriight" but I didn't see any reviews anywhere bout that company. There's so much conflicting information, anyone have some advice? HELP PLEASE!!!
