If you send the $26, they send you a letter saying Congratulations. Then they mention that you have to pay tax in order for the money to be released. They will ask you for $79. If you send that money, the game continues. They will ask you for money up to 5 times before you realize that they are cheating you. You were smart to be skeptical.
I just received a letter stating the same thing and I wanted to know about this company and if it's a scam. Thanks for answering the question I didn't ask.
I just received this letter today saying that I have won 1,677,519.00 reading it you know that soon or later you get to the part send in a processing fee, then you know that it is a scam. You know I am going to sign it and send it back with 26.00 in play money two can play this game see how they like it. LENA

I am not so stupid as these criminal think. I immediately recognized this as a scam. Really, who gives this amount of money away to someone who has not entered any form of sweepstake or contest under the sponsorship of an organization unknown to the individual. I immediately checked for authentication of my suspicions. I hope others read this page before sending any money to someone you have no knowledge of.
If every one that gets this letter sends money to MOD they could give someone the money and still make money. Hope no one falls for this scam
Total scam, I live in Baltimore Maryland I received the same letter .We should all ban together and sue the hell out of these morons!

I received one of these letters. Looked odd so I did a search. Thanks for the info, but I have another question. Isn't it against the Federal law to use the U.S.Postal Service to work a scam like this?
I got the same letter, if there's a place where I can report I will be glad, because this is a federal crime.
I received a letter from MOD or MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES DIRECT, INC at PO Box 223, 6160 AE Geleen, The Netherlands telling me that I won $1,677,519.00 and asked for $26.00 processing fee.
If you win something you don't have too pay for it. I should be free! Anytime they ask you to send them money to receive money it is definetly a SCAM

oooops..greed/stupid. I sent money order before I looked on line. but,,my satisfaction comes from knowing the scammers will one day answer for their deceit and treachery.
