etsy has an option to "promote" your shop. you pay a minimum of $5 a week (though if you do not get enough 'impressions' you are charged less. i only get charged a dollar a week or so) and when someone searches for your tag (necklace or rings) it puts your item on the top row with 4 (i think) other items others have promoted. This is so beneficial especially if you sell something that is quite common. In my experience on etsy, it is worth the money.
something also that has helped me on etsy is being open to custom orders. 75% of my sales are custom orders.
i also promote my shop through taking photos and posting them on Instagram with a hundred tags (etsy limits you to 13 for each item). I also post the images on wanelo, tumblr, pinterst, twitter. basically anywhere where someone might come across it. The advantage with this is that people could come across these photos in months from now and still see it and go to your shop. (plus they are free!).
in researching this for you i also came across this article. i did not read it fully but i saw some stuff that i wanted to implement so i thought you might find it useful too: http://www.handmadeology.com/10-real-tip...
lastly the promised 40 free listings: if you open your shop through this link you (and I) will each get 40 free listenings! http://etsy.me/17shYv4
There are some 435,000 sellers registered there, so it pays to be unique, there is probably no need for yet another duct take wallet seller.
Their rates by the way, 40 cents per listing plus 6% of any sales.
You will need to invest time into your store to drive traffic there so having a good understanding of keyword research so that you can create well optimised listings will help you.
Etsy also offer search ads which will allow you to drive instant traffic to your store, but you need to be careful that you make sure you get a return on what you spend or you will just end up buring cash.
yes etsy is very good for selling homemade items. if you want people to notice your store, you should contact someone who is popular online, like tumblr or twitter, people who have thousands of followers. they will tell people to buy stuff from your store. it worked for me :)

Yes. Also, you should try Bonanza.com too. They are great site. :-)
I make handmade jewellery such as cute necklaces, daisy earrings, rings, friendship bracelets, lots more and also flower head bands and flower hair peices, and I am also going to make some pretty shabby chic handmade bedroom things.
Is etsy good for selling? How will I get noticed?
