Fraudulent behavior indeed. These instances are growing in occurrence and as responsible customers we must stay aware of these geniuses (I mean fraudsters). You should definitely report this alongwith all supporting data so that you can receive a refund, and the frauds are penalized.

Also if your signed only on the receipt of 20 dollars, they can't get the money for other amount without your signature. You have all the valid points to report against him.

Well perhaps...but if it was a prepaid debit card sometimes they will hold a certain amount than what you charged when you pay at a gas pump. This is as a security for them. Usually the balance will be readjusted in several days. I don't know if this is the case with you, but it just may be. You should check with your card issuer.

You have signed only one charge slop for $20/ As $45 is debited in your account, the gas company might have received the amount. You have to enquire at the gas company only.

I recently bought gas with a debit card and asked for 20 dollars worth of gas, the guy went to enter my card in and he comes after a bit and was like hey I accidentally entered 2 instead of twenty and I can only use the card once out here I'm gonna bring it inside, so he goes in the building, and takes a while and comes back with my receipt of 20 dollars and I sign for it and everything. When I get home I go on my banks app that you can look at the transactions from and when I look at the gas station it says I had been charged an additional 45 at the gas station along with the 20 dollars I had asked to be put in my tank
