Check the copy of your lease and read the terms for eviction. Your LL can not just make up a reason to evict you - it must be written and agreed upon in the terms. Don't guess,KNOW! And don't make it a habit or pattern of paying your rent or any bills late. This does not look good and will ruin your credit and/or good financial standing.

Of course not, and it's not OK for you to be habitually late with rent - rent is due on a certain day according to your lease. Every time you pay it late, you violate the lease.

If you are even one day late they can give you a 3 day pay or quit notice then file eviction papers. A bank does not care about the date on a check and they are willing to deposit it so that would be a bad check which is a felony.
