Landlord demanding access?

Sounds like they gave you notice so there is nothing wrong here. You cannot simply say that you don't have the time and not let them in, you don't have that right. You don't even have any argument about being present when they come in, they only have to notify you.

If you want to dig in your heels about this, know how the law works first.

It's her place. She only needs to give you 24 hours notice to let you know she's coming in. It's unreasonable for her to knock and expect entry. It's more unreasonable for you to think she needs to wait six days to start (what is likely) seeing what repairs need to be made.

If they give notice, you have to let them in. You have to allow them in to show the place to prospective tenants, prospective buyers, repair people, rehab people, etc. They could come everything if they needed to and gave you notice. If this is the first time and you are moving, let it go. Asking her to come back is 6 days was unreasonable. knocking unannounced was not reasonable either. Be kind so you get more of your deposit back at the end. :)

Since you're moving out in 6-days....let her measure the sink and move on.

In the UK 24 hours is sufficient notice for an inspection. No notice, no access. That is stated in the Housing Act.

It is a reasonable request to be allowed access, but notice should be given, and not knocking unannounced and making demands.

If she gave you at least 24 hour notice, then she has full right to be let in. Remember it's her property, not yours.

The property owner has a right to inspect and view his property with proper notice, and do so prior to you leaving.

They are supposed to give you 24 hour notice, unless your state has a different law.

Nothing you can do, you are leaving soon. Not very professional but they could see you were in.

Why has life got to be a drama.

UK

Our landlord has just come to our house and started peering through our window. He then kept knocking on the door and demanded my boyfriend let her in the house to measure the sink. Previous to this we had told the agents that we didn't have time and she could do it when we move out in 6 days time. The landlord came round demanding yhis was unreasonable and she wanted in now. Boyfriend felt very uncomfortable and let her in. Anything we can do about it? Really angry!!

24 hour notice is required

You CANNOT deny access if she gave you proper notice, which it sounds like she did.

No, the owner has a right of inspection.
