Landlord in breach of section 21?

Sometimes i wish yahoo would allow us to trade in this section, as a landlord i would just buy the property with you still in it and negotiate a new lease and move you into temp while essential works complete then move you back in again. To me that makes sense. But alas yahoo does not allow that.

Anyhow your date is July 24th if they want you out before that date TOUGH COOKIES, its on paper, thats the date. You could negotiate - temp accom for 1 month at your current rent and moving expenses. (Which you are automatically entitled to if they have to move you during a tenancy, and as its BEFORE july 24th - its not as if they have any choice....)

I assume you are in UK. Section 21 is a standard UK notice.

Visit your local citizens advice too - they will give you some very interesting advice.....

ask the landlord not us. It takes conversation and negotiation even though this country is sue happy.

She has given you notice, move as directed. What do you not understand?

Unless you have some strange laws across the pond she has no legal right to force you out before the end of the 2 mo notice. If there is work to be done that's her problem to figure out.

If you have to be moved due to building works the Landlord will have to pay for your relocation to a different accommodation.

I would remain there until the full 2 months, unless you find somewhere, ask if they want you out before, then you want the full depoist.

My landlord has served a section 21 eviction notice as she is selling the property. I have been given the required 2 months notice in writing, however she wants us to move within this notice in order to carry out building work before she sells. I have not found anything about this on the internet, but if the landlord is in breach of the notice, what compensation -if any-should be due to me?
