Discrimination is completely legal; using that discrimination as the basis for denying someone a residence or employment is only illegal if the discrimination is against a protected class.

You got a 36 hour notice, that gave you saturday and sunday to prepare.
The landlord had no legal obligation to furnish you with bags for your laundry.
As for him calling your daughter names, that should NOT be tolerated. Federal laws forbid discrimination based on race, creed, religion, national origin, and gender.
If I were you, I would get a copy of the law, and paste it on the outside of his office door so that he won't forget.
Your LL only has to give you as much notice as is required by your state's laws. Two days is plenty of notice.
If you want your unit treated, you will abide by the instructions in the notice. YOU are the one who initiated the treatment since you called the health department.

i live in a triplex, and the entire complex is infested with bed bugs, i finally called the county when my 8 week old baby started getting bit by bed bugs, on friday there was a notice inthe living room saying that the exterminator would be here monday and we had to be gone for 3 hours, we had to wash and dry all of our clothes, and put away all of our food. is two days adequate time to notify tenants of this? on top of everything the manager has made it so we cannot enter any other unit, yet we have the only non working washer, we wrote up a response asking the manager for an extension on this process just so we can wait to go to the laundromat to do all our laundry. he even gave the other two units bags to bag their belongings and didnt give us anything, he has really made it hard to live here, but we cant afford anything else, the manager went as far as calling my daughter a halfbreed mongrol.
