You must discover something that people really want to buy, build a list of those people and sell them the goods or service. In theory thats all there is to it. It needs hard work. Do not fall for anything which says it is push button or simple....they rarely work
The easiest way to make money online is doing Offers. These are like registrations, 1 page submits, surveys etc. But I don't do the surveys since they are so long. But you can if you want. They pay very well, $1 - $2 for each survey.

i have done freelance writing work. there are several sites where you can get work, and build a customer portfolio. i did translating for a while, which pays well, but i found it boring. there is plenty of writing work available if you are motivated for it.
