Moving Out of Parents home at 21.?

When you have 6 months total living expenses in the bank then you can think about moving out. And that money stays in the bank, it is your hedge against losing your job, being in an accident and not being able to work for several months or losing your college funding. I am sure it is somewhat galling to have to live like a child in one room with no privacy and no space to entertain friends plus show up on your parents schedule for meals and so on. Have a chat with your parents about your need for some adult independence and be ready to make some suggestions about things you and they could do to make that feel more comfortable for all of you. Good luck.

It's past time for you to move out, and it sounds like your folks might have some problems. Some parents don't want their kids to go, since they would then have to deal only with each other and work through some of the "what do I do with myself now that the kids are gone?" issues. You have to do it sometime, so go ahead and create your own life now!

What's the problem? Many move out at 18.

Not weird at all. I too prefer to live alone. I have enough of my own crap to deal with... do not need anyone elses!

If you move against patents wishes or not is ultimately up to you. It is time for you to grow up & live your own life. Any parent that begrudge you for that ha some separation issues. They will have to learn to let go eventually.

Good for you. I moved out at age 18.

Yes, it is time and it sounds like you can afford it
