Check out Wordpress.com or Blogger.com. I've been using Wordpress for years and you can do some pretty professional things on it with good controls and reporting.
Create a blog using blogger.com or wordpress.com .. If you want you can also get your own domain in future.
The free one if you want then http://blogger.com
But for best in customization and look go for WordPress self hosted site.
