It's time for a consumer revolution. Down with tables and bags of potatoes!
Not really, like Trixie, I'm a sucker for a good price. I always stroll down what I like to call the "abnormal aisle" in the market. This is where the discontinued and banged up stuff ends up. The markdowns are great!
Marketing goes hand in hand with commerce. In this economy, most business are trying anything that comes to mind to increase/stabilize/re-capture sales.
It's also possible (likely?) that they had an oversupply of potatoes and were trying to sell them before they rot.
Tell the management you're unhappy.
Nah, I'm such a sucker for a sale, I'm sure I would have come home with a bag or two. I get much more insulted when they try to sell me overpriced gross looking meat or rotten vegetables I wouldn't even want to throw in my garbage.
In a grocery today I couldn't help but notice that small table was set up in front of the butchers case. On the table was bags of potato's. They were pretty much in the way, and for what purpose?
Will they eventually move the salt and pepper there too?
