Please note that Internet is an ocean of opportunities & it would be difficult to have a solid answer to your question as to which business is most profitable. It's up to you to make your business profitable.
I am not sure about your experience in Internet Business but it's for sure that your profitability depends upon your choice of Niche (Topic/area) that you start your business in. Comparatively some niches have more profitability than others. However, profitability depends upon your costs & revenue. Cost is something which you can have control of but revenue depends upon various external (market) factors beyond your control like number of people looking for some information, products or solution to their problems. Also you have to research about the competition (number of existing players) in any particular niche. You have to research deep into the niche to find out the demand & supply factors.
For example if you see affiliate marketing websites, the competition is very tight & it would be difficult for you to get a good earnings unless your affiliate website is strongly focused around one particular niche or topic. If you have a website promoting every possible affiliate program then the chances are that you would lose the focus & it's humanly not possible to be expert in every available niche. It is necessary to be focused around one particular topic as it helps getting targeted audience & it helps in Search Engine Optimization too.
To summarize, its necessary that you should have an understanding as to what are the niches that you can target. Once you decide your niche you have to out perform your competitors & create a reputation about your business over the internet.
