Question for real estate agents?

As long as it's properly maintained it shouldn't effect surrounding values. Actually it's appropriate for a beach house.

It may hurt your ability to sell if it's an eyesore in the neighborhood.

not really. if there were cars for repair in sand lot

then devalue would be possible.

smart informed owners are looking at way to

stop the environment hassles of grass in many areas.

"grass" is house selling myth from decades past.

As long as it looks nice, no big deal. Some people might not want to live there, but most wont care if kept clean.

I doubt that would have much effect.

One neighborhood has been in an uproar over a lady who decided to remove her grass lawn and replace it with sand. It looks pretty out of place in the neighborhood (even made the news: http://www.kctv5.com/story/25621975/brookside-beach-house-leaves-gritty-taste-with-neighbors)

People living around her are complaining and one person suggested this could devalue the homes nearby it. Anyone here pretty knowedgable about real estate? Would someone across the street doing this to their house ultimatly lower the price of my own house because its nearby?

Read the attached news story, it has pretty good pictures of the situation.
