I've never had any problems. My PayPal account is linked to my bank account. If there's more money in my PayPal account than I'm likely to spend in the near future, I can switch it across to my bank. If there's a shortfall in my PayPal account because I've bought something or someone wants their money back, it goes out of my bank on direct debit.
Just make sure that you describe all your goods carefully so that the buyer can't claim they were not as described, and send anything worth more than a few pence by Recorded Delivery so you have proof that it arrived. There are crooks who operate through eBay just the same as there are in any other market. They tend not to be particularly well-endowed with brain cells, so it's normally easy to spot them.
I have never had a problem on Paypal just a couple times on Ebay though for return/exchange issue only.
If there are any anomalies, then yes, PayPal will hold onto the money until they are satisfied that the transaction is legal.
Never had any problems.
I'm thinking of setting up a Paypal account, so that I can sell things on Ebay. However, I've heard that Paypal hold a small percentage of the transaction for up to 3 months, in case the buyer wants a refund. I'm wondering whether those of you who have bought and sold things on Ebay have had any problems with Paypal? I'd like to sell some of my unwanted belongings.
