Rental history?

I would have to agree you on this, if you have the finance's for it you could offer the rental co. an extra deposit to help get the place you want such as if the deposit is say $500. then offer them $1,500 for one year, and if nothing is damaged then you should get it all back, this is one way to try, but, I do think the rental co. are over zealous and it does hurt the good people trying to start out, good luck!

No one is going to have a problem renting to someone who can prove they can afford the rent.

Are you looking at places that are 25%-30% of your monthly income?

This is as very common problem. Many landlords will not take the chance on young 1st time renters. Those that will take you will require a co-signer or a larger deposit.

I find that odd as it doesn't apply in the UK. At least not as far as I am concerned. Solvency and good character is all that matters to me.

You need someone to guarantee your rent.

I'm really irritated because nobody wants to rent to a person that has no rental history. How do you get rental history if you can't rent a place? Yes I understand but it makes no sense to have to search to find that 1 person who will give you a chance.
