Renting a second home questions?

It is possible to rent another residence but to do so will likely require you to pay the rent through out the year, plus the utility bill to make sure the pipes don't freeze.. In some areas of the country short term rentals can be had, but it tends to only be available in touristy locations. Renting in the short term is cheaper. But in the long term renting is always more expensive then buying, unless the rental is rent controlled. Don't forget buying is an investment.

Sure its possible.

It's probably not a wise investment unless you plan on renting it out for income when you aren't there.

Vacation homes are a romantic idea, but renting a hotel/cabin is almost always cheaper unless you use it every weekend.

I am a landlord and I have in my lease that I must know who is occupying the property and if you are not for months at a time then I assume you are not taking expected care of the property and I would evict you. rent a temp place for only the time you need.

You can rent as many homes as you want, if you can afford it. How often you visit them is irrelevant.

1) is this possible to still rent a home in another state, even if you visit that second home you rent during the holidays every year? Could you still rent a home even if you visit it every year during the holiday seasons

2) is it cheaper to rent a home rather than buying a second home or condo
