Depends on your needs and money situation. If you get the apartment how will you get around? Is there public transportation (a lot cheaper than owning a car). A car is handy but they are money pits.

A lot depends on what you can afford.

You can buy a running car for $1500. You can't even put down a deposit and firth month's rent for that much.

A car would probably be better - pay it off quickly so you have no debt, then move out. Will make things a lot easier rather than making a car payment and rent at the same time.

I think you should get an apartment first so you may have the privacy you want.You will also be making a major jump into adulthood. If you are ready for the responsibility.

This question has been on before and the car won but i think it ought to be the apartment you can't live in a car if you want to get away but you can't get away without a car ah a catch 22

You get somewhere to live, a decent job, a car comes later,ever heard of public transport, or walking somewhere?

if you have a apartment you'll have to pay taxis to drive you everywhere, if you have a car, you dont have to spend so much time at home so it'll be easier to get around and so on. it'll be cheaper to get a car first then you can save up for an apartment. goodluck
