Seller refusing to hand over keys?

whether che gives you the keys or not, your should call a lcksmith and get the locks changed. You never know who in the past, has a set of those keys.

if the transaction has gone thru, everyone has signed off on everything and GM has received the money from the sales transcation and the house is legally yours, change the locks

If you've closed on the house, change your locks and be done with it.

so she told your solicitor she was going to put a caveat on the property (after it was sold)

what did your solicitor tell you?

(cos she cant put a caveat on the house after its sold unless she can show you owed her money - which you didnt)

You have keys. Get the locks changed.

If you are legally listed on the deed or document in your country indicating that you own the property, you are able to do as you please to your property, to include changing the locks.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

"FIGHT ON"

make it simple - change the locks. Even if she turned them over, it would mean nothing, she could have made copies

Change the locks.

Change the locks once you own it

Changing locks is cheaper than attorney fees.

We recently bought a house off my grandmother

The house was vacant for 18 years no one had lived in it or rented it out. When we bought the house there was no bathroom or kitchen and the bank gave us a week to do the bathroom and kitchen done to make it habitable and secure the loan. After settlement my nan got pretty dirty towards the matter saying to my solicitor that she was going to put a caveat on the property of we didn't pay her $1825 legal fees. My partner and I paid the loan as if she put a caveat on the house the bank would call in our loan. My nan is now refusing to hand over the original set of keys. We have copied keys. Just wondering what can we do?

nothing as long as it's legally your house.
