There is the bottom line. You aren't going to sell anywhere near the volume anywhere else.
Their fees are actually cheap compared to selling in the real world. A consignment store will charge you a massive percentage, a booth at a flea market will cost you $100 to $150 and up, and opening a regular store will cost you thousands. Just about the only other place with as much traffic is Amazon and you really won't like it there much. Craigslist is filled with spammers and scammers.
There are 'freebie' sites out there that try to be like eBay. They have little to no traffic. Attempting to sell on them can be frustrating at best. You get what you pay for.
You need to be more specific. All products have different mediums they can use. Depending on the Product you may find better places to sell but you will have to do the research. There is a big difference between modern products like customatic.com and companies like gap.com. I agree there are a couple good companies like ebay and amazon. But you will have to specify the product and you will find at least 10-12 websites selling that category of product.

eBay's the best place as I know it. If you're selling pretty small stuff you can use fiverr.
I've been using ebay for the past 2 months now. Even though I've managed to sell a decent amount, their fees are unacceptable. Ebay & Paypal are way too shady!! I'm wondering is there's any better place to sell where the selling fees aren't too high and offer protection not ONLY to the buyers, but the sellers as well? And also where receiving the money you earned from sales won't be such a hassle (ebay).
