We want to get an apartment?

No, $500 is about all the rent your budget can handle per month. Much more then that & utilities & routine expenses will break you.

$700 is over one-third of your combined income. It is doubtful you could pass the credit check At 19, you will need a cosigner. Since you are not married they are under no obligation to approve both of you.

Save more money. You will need first & last months rent up front plus the securoty deposit before you even move in. At the $700, you will have already spent half your savings. That leave you little leftover to handle an emergency.

Its depends...What state city are you looking to rent in? Utilities are usually separate. When renting an apartment they usually conduct a credit check to look at your renting history, income, credit score ect... It sounds like you have unestablished credit so they may charge you an additional deposit. I suggest keep saving and have your boyfriend keep saving also because there are many fees and unexpected expenses out there.

What you don't have enough of is good sense and street smarts. If asking on Answers is the best idea you have it will be a long time before you are ready to move to an apartment on your own.

he makes good money..no reason for him to purchase a cow..THE MILK IS FREE

My BF & I want to move out by early November. We are both 19. We both make almost $2000 a month each. We are looking for a place around $700-800 rent.

Right now I have $4000 saved up.

What should we look for ?

What should the apt include ? (Utilities ? Water ? Garbage )

How does renting an apartment work ?!

Do we have enough ?
