better a friend than an enemy. Most of the time these people have no idea now noisy and rude they are.

Me and my partner recently moved into a new house with my 2 year old step son. We are first time buyers. We realised very quickly we had an extremely loud neighbour. There is constant banging and shouting. In the short time we have been here, there has been numerous fights with numerous people. People are constantly coming and going, a lot of them have mopeds which they park on the pavement sometimes making it difficult to reverse out of our driveway. The neighbour is a 19 year old with a 4 year old daughter. The noise has disturbed my step sons sleep on several occasions. The neighbour also came around to our house shouting the odds because I had sent some post back to sender for the previous occupant, apparently she can forward it for us instead so she wants it. She was very rude and intimidating on this occasion, I don't feel I can confront her about the noise because of this. My partner has also had a run in with her where she has been very rude to him. If she is disturbing my step son at 12am at night surely she must be disturbing her own daughter? The house is rented from a private landlord and we have no contact details for them. What can we do about this? Yesterday there was a massive fight in the house with a lot of smashing glass, shouting and swearing. We were about to call the police when the other person left. What can we do about this? We don't want to fall out for obvious reasons, they could get even worse. Any advice is appreciated.
