You must be given written notice of termination of your tenancy from the landlord (old or new). Depending on the state, that's usually 30 or 60 days.
In the UK your landlord is still required to give you notice. You should receive two month's notice.

My landlord is selling the house i currently rent, i dont have a problem with this as we intended on moving out, just need to find another house. Ive looked at the listing for the house on the internet and it mentions early vacant possession. Our tenancy agreement has run out but we are currently on a month by month agreement. If the house sells do i still get a 30 days notice to move out? Im not too bothered as it only went up for sale a few days ago and we hope to move soon.
