People who run legitimate businesses need to abide by all local, state and federal laws and regulations. That means she needs to have a city/county business license, pay excise tax, have a state business license/account and pay state excise tax and also collect and remit sales tax if required in her jurisdiction, and also file a federal tax return. Unless she forms a corporation she would file a 1040 Schedule C.

Anyone who owns a child care business also needs to have liability insurance, CPR/FA/BPP training, food handler's card, background check and anything else required by the state.

Your friend needs to just babysit if she wants to babysit. It's under-the-table income. It's babysitting, not running a business. Two very different things.

Tot Squatter.

This is actually for my friend but anyway. She lives in a very big neighborhood and a lot of people probably have babysitter's so she needs something that stands out.

What she was hoping is that people can put their ideas out there good or bad lets hear them all :)

so yeah. Her name is Kelsey if you want to include that.

Also bonus

- if any one has experience with handing out business cards and what methods are best that would be good

- PARENTS is it a good idea to put her rate on the card or no?

- if any one is super creative and comes up with a slogan that'd be nice too

THANKS TO ALL THE CREATIVE PEOPLE OUT THERE FOR HELPING <3 :)
