Presumably, if you paid on the 26th, you are current on rent until the 25th of the next month. You must pay again on or before the 26th of the coming month.

You must pay before the deadline because you'll have a penalty if you don't pay it before the due date.

If you are paid up to the 26th, that is paid for the 25th, it is due again on the 26th. Your agreement should clearly state the due date.
