The only "free" domain names are the ones you get as part of your PAID hosting package and that may be only for the first year or for the period of time you host with same hosting service.

Forget a free domain. If you don't have much money to spend just get a cheap .info domain name. At least you will have full control over it and they only cost about 1.99, sometimes less! I'm sure you an afford that.

Absolutely free .com or similar, however, is very hard to find.
i'm trying to find a website that allows me to get a free domain name, (not dot.tk, bit.ly, they almost gave me viruses), that i don't have to build a website for first (like wix.com). i dont have much money to spend so im looking for something that's 100% free. can anyone help?
