Because it's high season for these cabins. It's also because it's an autonomous home, which can cost more. Then, there are cleaning fees.
$233/night is nothing for a decent vacation rental. An in-season luxury hotel will be at least five times that for a similar place.
Because log homes are often located in places where people really want to stay (the mountains, for example). If that same home were on a busy street near a factory, wouldn't go for that much.
Further, since that sounds like a vacation rental they have the situation that you might rent it for 3 days and then it sits vacant until another weekend or so. It is not rented continuously like an apartment.
If you don't like the price, why are you staying there?
It's a business. They'll charge as much as people will pay.
That is actually the point. You're renting it.
Most likely, it's because that is the rate that everyone else is willing to pay. Supply and demand, you know...
Do you know how much money it costs to push out a log these days? It isn't cheap...
because its 2014 not the 1200s.
you are paying for the expensive logs
It's not like we're staying in a luxury hotel, why is it $700 just for 3 nights?
