And in the dark side of business, you need to know if someone is making false accusations about your business. You should have a strategy in place, just in case it ever occurs.
Last spring Facebook hired a top public relations firm to plant negative stories about Google. Facebook was trying to spread rumors that claimed Google was invading people’s privacy. It's a perfect example of the immoral strategies businesses are lowering themselves too, so they can get an edge in business. So, one needs to protect their reputation in general not just in the web.
That's my good deed for the month, back to work.
Its even more apparent now than even just a few months ago and certainly a year ago. Every business owner will eventually understand that Reputation Marketing, not only Reputation Management, is the most vital form of marketing. Reputation Marketing is no longer an option, it is a necessity. Get this one thing wrong and every single other dollar you send on marketing is wasted. Get this wrong and nothing else works Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Social Media…Pay Per Click (PPC)… Local Marketing….None of it works anymore if you have bad reviews online.
? A Nielson Global Trust in Advertising Survey as far back as Q3 2011 showed trending data that 92% of the people trusted a recommendation from people they knew best followed by the second most trusted 70% read reviews and trust consumer opinions post online. That’s 7 out of 10 people!
? Economists from the University of California published the results of a study examining the effects of Yelp’s online ratings in a recent Economic Journal. The study shows a slight half-star improvement in ratings can increase a restaurants business peak dining hours by 19%.
? Perhaps this is the most interesting statistic because the answers are from Business Owners when asked, …How satisfied are you with business value your company has achieved by using the following marketing channels? Onsite ratings and reviews created the most value said the majority of business owners. This is a more recent survey from Forrester Research, Inc. Q3 2013 North America and UK Digital Maturity Online Survey.
I wholeheartedly agree with the other comments posted saying every business should know what other people are saying about their business. A free resource I tell business owners about a lot that most never knew it was available is a free reputation report service online called http://www.FreeReputationReport.net, it searches all the top review sites and brings back reviews you should be concerned about. In addition, it also does a complete diagnosis of your business’s review directory listings to determine if they are optimized for best results. It’s a cool free resource for business owners.
Its also worth noting the difference and perhaps the evolution of Reputation Management. What started out as monitoring and receiving alerts to a full fledged offensive marketing plan after business owners realized their return on investment and over all Brand improvement after they’ve taken control of their business’s online review process.
The head line is Reputation Management does work and in principle that is true because it is a defensive posture. Reputation Marketing is an offensive posture. Businesses do not make money managing, they make money by marketing! That comes back to reputation because if your reputation stinks, so will your business no matter the size of your marketing budget.
Online reputation management need for business;all user searches online information that time negative impression is bad reviews for your business. Users decide to not any transaction for negative reviews business.
Even if there is nothing negative about your business, there needs to be something positive. If there isn't, you may as well have negative reviews, as you aren't attracting new customers. My answer doesn't have to be pages long to answer your question. LOL
If you aren't looking sharp online, you aren't going to be the next Apple.
If you do want to read, check the source. Some people know what to do easily.
Every business should know what people are saying about it. Anyone can go on Yelp and say you are terrible. You need to know what to do about that. People will read review sites and decide not to do business with you if there are too many negative reviews.
