Because most of those ads are paid for by the people who oppose smoking, so you hear more of the bad things about smoking. Not that they arent true, but you hear the bad rep of it more often due to the propaganda. And to your second part of your question, its because smoking doesnt just hurt the smoker, it hurts the people around him/her. i have asthma, so if i come within 20 feet or so of a smoker, i start up with coughing fits. So many people want to try to stop that. its like saying you should be able to give toddlers weapons. it might hurt the people around them, but sometimes not many people can make the right decision. think about it, you can often hear about the thousands of people being hurt daily on the news, but thats only a tiny fraction of people out there. So to summarize, the people against smoking are trying to prevent people from starting smoking in the first place, the masses sometimes arent smart enough to make their own choices, and finally you have to imagine how many families fell apart, how many kids died, how much life has been taken away from us because of peoples bad decisions.
Because their product has been consistently proven to kill its users as well as anyone who happens to be around someone who uses the product.
Smoking ruins lives my aunt died of lung cancer. The stuff should be banned.
all these Tv ad's say oh they are trying to get people to smoke and they r trying to go towards younger americans? Isn't that what a company is supposed to do in capitalism target a consumer that will make the most money and try to get them to use their product? I don't smoke but its the smokers body and the smokers choice why dont people back off and let companies do what they are supposed to and let people make their own choices
