Of course people have been spending less money over the past few years. This is related to the recession and the number of people who are out of work. This will also account for the number of people using credit cards over cash, though the use of plastic whether it be credit or debit cards is on the increase overall. You dont necessarily need to market directly in relation to those using credit or debit cards but advertise the value that your business provides...a lot of food for less than your competition and you can bet that the number of people that come in will be more. You can also run more specials to attract more customers. And discounts to your larger catering customers.
It must be your first year in the business . It goes up and down depending on the month .Start writing sales so you will know what to expect next year in the same month .
Perhaps there is a seasonal factor, Christmas pizza is not a tradition. Tried to find sales over the ear graphs, did find some industry relate articles.

I own a little pizza shop that is city's favorite pizza spot but business in past two months including january has significantly slowed down. The supplier of my foods and quality of pizzas and other pastas has not changed but business has slowed. I see the same amount of people coming in to the store but yet they buy less-priced items...for example, instead of buy two or three pizzas like they did before, now they buy just one. Instead of buying a pasta with salad now they buy just pasta or single sandwich. I do have daily lunch specials and daily pizza specials.
What i have noticed though is that larger catering account such as schools, bigger businesses and other event organizers have slowed in their orders and do not order as frequently as they did before. I have also noticed something else which is my credit card payments, I mean people paying with credit cards and no cash has significantly increased. Any idea what that may suggest????
Any ideas on what credit card payments increase suggest and how can i win back that business that I used to have???
Help is much appreciated!!!
