if you are selling something it's a good idea to hand one out.
Sadly, business cards are losing importance over all and today fewer people use them effectively...primarily because people don't usually know what to do with them once the other person has left!
But that being said, in a proper business setting, business cards are extremely important because it is a reminder of who the person is, what they did, and whether you would want to do business with them. When browsing my 1000 phone contacts, I can't possibly remember how a Joe of some XYZ company was, but the moment I see his/her business card, it becomes a visual cue and reminder of who they were and what kind of a relationship they established.
Which then comes to the second part of your question...yes, identity is important. A card doesn't have to be flamboyant or over-the-top, but it has to represent you, and the company you work for or run. It's the smallest possible 'personal' brochure you can effectively leave behind for someone.
i think you should try Bizcuit app, I m not sure if it is available in Bahasa, as I 've been using it recently in 2014, and it is available for Android and iPhone. My friend in Singapore told me about it that it is basically a social network for business cards, and we both need it for our sales activities. Pretty useful tho
It's a reminder after you've departed so that you can't be quite so easily forgotton. It's a great way for those who have a hard time remembering names or phone numbers.
Have you ever imagine why we use business cards? Is it really necessary to represent your identity in single card.?
