World Patent Marketing?

Posted at: 2015-03-04
World Patent Marketing is the only patent assistance company in history to be awarded a five star review rating from Google, Trustpilot, Shopper Approved, Customer Lobby and ResellerRatings.com. World Patent Marketing has received accredited status and is an A Rated Member of the Better Business Bureau. World Patent Marketing is also a proud member of Duns and Bradstreet, the US Chamber of Commerce, the Association for Manufacturing Excellence, and the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA).

I am a former employee at WPM and let me explain you exactly how this scam works.

First step is they'll tell you to send in your idea so that they can get it to their "professional" review team so they can determine if your idea is something they believe can be successful and if they want to help you work on it. - Lies!

Next day they'll call you and tell you your idea passed the minimum requirements and they are now sending it over to the review team for more research and that most ideas don't make it past the review. - Lies!

The following day they'll call and tell you that the review team requested more time to research your product ,which is usually a good sign because if they don't like an idea they'll usually drop it right away, so if the review team likes your idea you'll know you're on to something great. -Lies!

Then on the 4th day they call you excitingly telling you that the review team loved your idea! they definitely see potential for it to be marketed or licensed to a major manufacture, and World patent marketing wants to be a part of your project! The next step is to create an "invention royalty analysis". They will tell you this is absolutely necessary and required by manufactures and If you were to create the analysis by yourself it would cost around $7K, but since WPM wants to help you, they will absorb most of the cost and your price will end up being $1,295. Now this is not in any way a patent, it's simply the research they claim you need before even thinking of getting your patent. Once the analysis is done they will give you patent options that range from $2,000 to $30,000.

Now remember, not matter how dumb, ridicules, or unoriginal your idea may be they will always tell you everything I mentioned above because they want you to fork over the $1,295. The whole step by step process was simply created to get you exited about your idea and make you believe your millions of dollars are around the corner so that when they ask you for the $1,295 it'll sound like pennies.

They have absolutely no intention of really helping you get your idea out there. They get poor people to empty their bank accounts, they get broke people to borrow the money, all by selling them a dream that for 99% of the people has no chance of coming true.

They are literally the lowest of the low. Stay far, far away!

I'm working with them and yeah I have a global invention royalty analysis on my idea. I'm wondering if they even did send it into Baylor university like they said and if there's anyway to find out for sure if they did actually do a patent search. They revealed inventions that are similar to mine but not mine and they are legit inventions that have been patented so I'm not a 100% convinced they're a scam because that right there tells me they did do a patent search to uncover similar ideas. Is it still possible that they didn't actually hire a patent attorney and that they just took my money and did a search themselves? If they do what they say they do then they're technically not a scam right? They're not saying everyone's invention will be picked up by a company willing to take on producing it but they're saying that they will get the concept presentable to these kinds of companies and actively work on broadcasting it to the right people via the internet commercial, 3d model on your personal web page they produce you, brochures, and by sending it out to their opt in news subscribers. Is there anyone out there that's gone through with them 100% and would say that they've been scammed? Please reply if you have I'm 18 years old trying to start my life out right and don't want to make more stupid decisions haha

I was working with Milean on a project. They wanted to charge me $1295 for a global invention royalty analysis . On the documents it stated they will do a 3d design, tech specs, market analysis to see where they will market the invention and who will buy it,the entire SIC and Coding search. On the paper work they sent you it doesn t say anything about patent the idea so i understand. According to the docs and info given via phone this is like a preparation of documents to start up the idea. On the agreement they sent me they said it take from 6 to 8 weeks. She told me that i would have to sign and send her the payment asap becuase they are having a trade show coming up and wanted to present my idea. When she told me that i started to think how can you show my idea with out a patent. Someone can steal my idea. Not sure what do to yet. I wanted to get some feed back from people who paid there Royalty Analysis and see if they prepared a great 3D design provided you with the market analysis, gave you your tech specs, preliminary drawing, a report of the SIC and NAICS directory search etc...

According to there agreement they are not a attorney.

Milean told me a lot of things. She said this is the setup on getting our spec, research, drawings and prep for my invention. She told me that after that they will refer me to an attorney to file the patent, then if the patent is completed and approved they will get refer me to manufacturing companies to do a prototype. Once the manufacturing starts they will market my product. They will pay for the license with " " is over $100,000

They will market clients for me and only charge me 10% of my profit.

I have never done this before. I have a great idea that i know will sell but dont know my A - Z

Dont trust anyone and dont have a lot of money to invest so i cant make a lot of mistakes.

If anyone knows or can help me know the steps to making my product idea happen i would love the help

I have came up with a good kids toy made out of plastic with light up items

If anyone knows any manufacturers or helpful link or information it would be nice

As some professional inventors with their own little development labs may tell your good ideas alone are a dime a dozen, implementing it and proving their is actually a demand for a practical version is the greater challenge.

Many inventor assistance businesses have a reputation for being predatory and "pleased with" ever ideal that's submitted, they too often will run you through the whole process even if they don't believe it has any real chances of success.

One of the first patent steps is to do a search, (a surprising number of ideas have already been patented) you can use the U.S. patent office:

The best way to go is, Patent Service Company, they offer reduced access to a Patent Attorney's for less, because they do so much business with them, also go to the USPTO.GOV site under scam prevention, you can call them at 1-800-786-9199, whoever the company is, ask if they have successful patents, also always look at their disclaimers on each company's web site.

Stay Away from them!

They tell you EXACTLY what you want to hear and they will take your money and nothing useful will be done.

Do you know about the Provisional Application for Patent? It only costs $65 and was designed by Congress to give individual inventors a chance at bringing their inventive ideas to market easily. It is SUPER EASY to do..

If a provisional application for patent looks like the right thing for you to do then take a look at a website that shows EXACTLY how to file one using a video format. Either Google or YouTube Provisional Patent Video or PM me and I will give you links to consider. I notice you do not have your email turned on in Yahoo or I would have sent it to you..

I do not want to put links in here because lawyers delete my posts when I do.. go figure! They do not want you to know how easy this is! You can email me at dave.korpi@gmail.com too if you want as well!

There are LOTS of ways to move forward with your invention. I would caution you away from paying ANYONE ANYTHING until you COMPLETELY understand what and when they will give you what you want.

DO NOT pay anyone $5,000 to start your invention... Not even invention companies until you COMPLETELY understand exactly what they will do for you. I have talked to way too many folks who have spent from $1800 to $5000 to get nothing.

Not to worry.. there are ways to get what you want ant YOU can do it yourself, for the most part, and it is fairly easy to do everything. Just know the USPTO if a branch of the Federal Government and the Federal government wants YOU to be a millionaire so you can pay taxes. Therefore, the Federal Government, via the USPTO, makes it EASY to file a Provisional Application for Patent. Extremely easy.

World Patent Marketing is a scam. They take your money and do nothing. The government has shut them down many times but they just reopen with a different name. Legitimate companies don't charge up front fees. They will usually work on commission based on how successful they are at selling your idea.

Unfortunately i did business with this company they completely misled my husband and I . I'm kicking myself for not fully investigating them before i gave them money.

LIES LIES LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First they Lied about the location, they claim to be in New York However a quick Google search of http://www.corporationwiki.com/ I see the address is 1680 Meridian Ave Miami Beach, FL 33139.

The name "worldpatentmarketing.com" is just a website the name of the company is "Desa Industries, Inc."

i dug deeper and my heart sank when i realized they could not have all these products in stores because according to "http://www.ip-adress.com/whois/worldpat... there website was created in January of 2014. The only information i can find on them are press releases that seem to hype up the company.

They told get a patent search. I did get one but all it talks about is how my product would do in INDIA!!! I could go on and on but i will cut my losses i gave the 1300$ for a big book of junk and typos. And i cant find ANY EVIDENCE that a patent attorney has done any work on my project. When i started to complain to my consultant John Alexander he treated me with disrespect and seemed really agitated when i began to question why i paid money for "professional patent searchers" instead of a registered patent attorney like we had discussed.

These guys are a scam even i looked on the legal disclaimer on there website and it says

" DESA Industries, Inc.'s service is not intended to create an attorney-client relationship, and by using DESA Industries, Inc.'s services, no attorney-client relationship will be created with DESA Industries, Inc. Instead, you are representing yourself in any legal matter you undertake through DESA Industries, Inc. 's services. DESA Industries, Inc.'s offers an online automated system for assisting inventors with a provisional application for patent service, which includes a review of answers for completeness, spelling and grammar, as well as internal consistency of names, addresses and the like. At no time do we review your answers for legal sufficiency, draw legal conclusions, provide legal advice or apply the law to the facts of your particular situation. DESA Industries, Inc. and its services are not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. If you need legal advice for your specific circumstances, you should consult a licensed attorney in your area." So they basically leave you high and dry when it comes to owning your idea with a patent.

I would like to know what I should do about this invention situation between me and world patent marking company. Here is my story. I submitted an ideal world patent marking. World patent Marketing responded back to me stating they were pleased with my ideal and that they would like for me to send them 950 dollars for World Patent Marketing to do a global invention royalty analysis. Of course my question to you guys is what you think I should do. I think that the ideal is a good ideal but, yes I know I can’t toot my own ideal.

Thank in advance

wow!!! major eye opener! Thank you all for writing reviews and telling the truth about this company. It's so sad that people spend time and energy trying to rip honest working americans out of money. So sad! I've been working with a man named, Parker Matas. He seemed very professional. They just sent me a contract, which doesn't promise a patent. Super slick paperwork and slick tongue devils. They wanted $1,295.00...not gonna get it though...thanks to honest people like you that are willing to take the time to write these post. Thank you!

WOW I cannot believe it took me this long to actually find this site where it speaks the truth and answers questions of how they have been in business for 5 yrs but online only shows the past 6 mths. Everything that I have found on the company was very positive and honest...till now...too good to be true!! ugghhh I cant believe that the woman Milena was gaining my trust , and just to scam me .. I knew it was too good to be true !! They are under a different name . I am just guessing ,but all those positive feedbacks on the company are probably fake.. Shaking my head ---over and over -----

I also submitted an idea to them and was told to pay $1295 and they were going to do all of this stuff for me. Prior to them contacting me, I looked up how much it would cost to hire a patent attorney and it ranged from $2,000 to $4,500 approximately. I believed this company was reputable until today when I received the offer letter from them, I was suspicious so looked on google beyond the first and second page and found all of the complaints. I am glad that I found this page., Thanks all who posted.

I was just about to send credit card info when I saw these comments.they wanted 1295.00 for patent search..thank you all, I just saved some money, because after that I would have to pay 2-10 thousand.

Hello,

I am currently in the same situation with world patent marketing. I am wondering if you went through with them and if you were successful?
