After you get your blog to a certain point; it will be ready for visitors. How do you get visitors?
1. SEO [search engine optimization]---go directly to Google, type in SEO, and follow their criteria. You will want to do this as you create your blog. It will help make your site better suited for visitors and give you SEO background.
You want people to know, like, and trust you. That is how you get sales. Think of a funnel---a visit is a mini-sale, a share as a slightly larger sale, and a sale is the largest sale. Ooops, that'd be a reverse funnel, or some crazy thing like that, but you get the idea.
2. Do social media. Share other's comments, as you bring in your own content. Every seventh remark---be it tweet or whatever should be about your blog. Get to know other bloggers, and try to share each other's info.
3. Free advertising sites....Google it, and there are tons.
4. Guest posts....slightly more advanced, but they are dynamite for bringing in traffic.
5. Blog comments---find several bloggers in your niche and visit them frequently. You want to be positive, friendly, yet authoritative. You want people to look at your comment and say, "I want to see what ____ has to say.
6. Avatar (picture) posted on everything you do.
