Contact the seller I've done it before usually you can sort it out fine :)
First, it is impossible to "accidentally" buy an item on eBay. You have to click twice. Once to indicate you want to buy/bid, a second time to confirm. Don't try this line on the seller.
If you don't pay, the seller MUST file an unpaid item strike to get their FVF fee back. If they paid listing fees, they don't get those back. You cost the seller time to list the item and this wasn't a game.
With an unpaid item strike, eBay will suspend you from bidding and may kick you off of eBay completely.
