Am I being scammed? Is the eBay protection program real?

Scam

1 eBay protection ONLY applies to cars listed on EBay and you have to bid on eBay, win the auction on eBay and pay on eBay.com with your linked PayPal account. Ebay protection DOES NOT work with vehicles listed on Craigslist or any other site

Here's Ebay's warning http://pages.motors.ebay.com/buy/securit...

2 eBay protection DOES NOT allow cars to be shipped. Rule Number One is that you have first inspected the car before completing the auction and Ruke Number Two s that you have gone to pick up the car AND had the seller sign over the title and Bill of Sale in person. The car cannt be shipped nor can you fail to meet the seller in person

3 eBay protection ONLY applies to vehicles located less than 250 miles from your home

4 eBay NEVER accepts Moneygram or Western Union

5 eBay NEVER contacts you. It's you who has to go to EBay.com, bid and win the auction, then pay on Ebay's checkout page

6 eBay DOES NOT have agents.thats the scamer's accomplice you spoke to

Report this ASAP to craigslst to get the ad removed, then contact the police. This is a criminal fraudulently using Ebay's name to try and steal your money

Craigslist is ONLY for face to face CASH transactions or you are always being scammed. There are NO exceptions

Any time you cannot meet the seller, see the car, test drive it, have the mechanic of your choice inspect it AND verify IN PERSON that the seller's name is the same name as on the title, you are either being scammed or buying a stolen vehicle

Nobody is going to spend $2000 shipping a car already way below market value cross country. If the car actually existed and wasn't stolen they could walk into any local dealer and get $5000+ cash in hand in 5 minutes

This is a scam. Since you have their phone number, call the police

It is a SCAM.

Break off contact.

There is no car. That is why it is so cheap. It doesn't exist. The pictures were just pulled from another website from someone legitimately selling that car.

FYI....Ebay has nothing to do with Craigslist. However, the scammers are hoping that you do not know that. Also, Ebay does not offer any sort of escrow service between buyers and sellers. The scammers are betting that you don't know that either

Anybody claiming to be sending a car from another location is a scam, very quite common scam.

Pictures mean almost nothing. They can be taking pictures of somebody else's car.

DON'T DO IT!!!!! Visit eBay's site. At the top of the screen you will find links to their customer support center where you can find information on payments to third parties and other information specifically for vehicle sales. I cannot tell you that your auto seller is scamming you, but what protection do you have if they are?

I saw a very nice car on Craigslist for only 1,765. It was a 2004 Nissan mureno. When I contacted the buyer,at first she said she was in Virginia but then i said i wanted to view the car ,after that she said she was in illinois. She sent me a link to a bunch of pictures of the car. After that she told me to stop texting her and just email her instead. Next she said eBay will contact me with some details and her presence wasn't nessascery. After that, an email was sent to me with all the details on how to send cash by money gram. They said they strongly suggested I tell money gram services that I am sending it to a friend or relative not the ebay protection program to avoid high fees.they were asking for a personal check to an agent with the name Clair Ezra. (the email said the agents name was Clair Ezra). Then a random number claiming their name is Clair Ezra kept sending me texts about how Safe it is. I wanted to call the agent but the person said they have over 10 million clients over the world and they just can't talk. So I don't know if this is a scam or not.they told me shipping the car from illinois to Virginia will be free and it is over the eBay protection program. Someone please help,I don't know if this true or not,I am new at this and something feels wrong even though I haven't paid yet.
