Changing your title is not a good idea unless you do it within 10 to 15 mins after posting reason is if Google bot has indexed that page and your visitors are used to coming to the page with that title then you change that title your visitors will get a 404error message that can make your stats go down...

It's because SEO is fickle like that. It may be because the change of titles and may not be. You may not have done anything wrong for your traffic to drop that significantly.
