If they did not tell you to visit annualcreditreport.com, Experian.com, Equifax.com or TransUnion.com for the credit report its a scam. Scammers set up fake credit score sites that are designed to steal your identity. There is no house and once you fill out info on the fake site, you'll never hear from that guy again. But 6 months from now you will be hounded by debt collectors about unpaid loans and credit cards these scammers took out under your name. This is a very common scam. No landlord makes you run a credit report BEFORE you see the house. You see it and if you like it, then you fill out an application that allows the landlord to run the credit report
Want to prove its a scam - write back to say you have a TransUnion report from 2 weeks ago when you applied for a car loan that you will bring with you when you view the house. Then see how quickly it disappears
He can't see a credit score without you giving him personal information so don't do it. Don't give this guy any information.
It is definitely a scam.
