Do celebrities subtly advertise on television?

When celebrities drink a Red Bull or another brand-name drink while on television (not commercials), are they really being paid to advertise for those companies?

Yes, it's called product placement. The actors aren't paid for it, the studio that makes the show is paid to feature the products.

The products you see in a program are paying to be there (character driving a new VW). If a celeb is drinking a red bull during an interview there is a chance they are being paid to drink it.

The celebrity isn't being paid, the production company for the show is.

Often, but more likely the show is a sponsor.

If you can see a trademark, chances are they paid them.

Watch NASCAR and you'll have your answer.
