Unlike Amazon stores, Crigslist advertisers are not vetted in any way, just like with newspaper classified ads your on your own to determine if a seller is trustworthy, as you will see Craigslist warning you it's best to deal face to face with local people, there are lots of Nigerians offering to overpay sellers, if they return a portion of the excess.
Some advise you meet in a public places to avoid your house being targeted, that might be a bit more paranoid.
I trust Craigslist. But if you're going to meet someone to look at something, I suggest going with a friend so you're not alone, just incase you're put in a situation you can't handle by yourself......but I've gotten many things off Craigslist and sold many things on Craigslist....no problems yet!
Brandie: As noted on their web site (Craig's List) only deal local & beware of sending cash or merchandise anywhere. Read their advice & be very careful. I have only sold a few items over their site & the people came to me & I have had no problems, but also in a good area.
Take care & good luck! Some deals are not, & some things you should buy new.
I've bought and sold lot's of things through craigslist. You shouldn't buy something like a vehicle sight unseen, regardless of where it's advertised.
Craigslist is the modern classifieds.
Well I kinda trust Craigslist but there's a lot of spam so Mabey.
It's not the website, it's the people on it.
You can find bad people anywhere, don't let the reputation of a website put you off so much.
Message the person, find out if they're genuine or not.
Then make your decision.
i've used it before and called someone and they said that our house isn't for sale, they said that we don't know why its on craigs list. so i wouldnt trust craigslist.
you can trust and negotiate with people.. its not like your going to pay online
meet the people and inspect what ur going to buy...
No
Looking for a moped scooter; there's one that's $800 on CraigsList but I never used it before, just Amazon.com. Do you trust it, have you used it before?
