Is it ok to dropship on eBay?

Will eBay and PayPal frown upon this?

What's the risks?

Thanks in advance

It's ok to do, but you are responsible for the right item getting to the buyer on time. Most buyers expect you to ship within 4 days of them paying, but PayPal may not have released their money to you (new sellers have strict rules) so you're going to have to pay the supplier out of your own money to get the goods shipped. You can't wait until the money is released because that's 21 days. Buyers will also ask for tracked shipping info, will you be able to give them that? Otherwise the buyer will raise a impute saying you never sent the item and you (not actually being the shipper) won't have proof of shipping and PayPal will refund the buyers money. 2 or more disputes like that, a few neg feedbacks and your eBay account will be closed for "non performance". That's the danger with drop shipping unless you have a very reputable wholesaler.

Drop Shipping IS allowed by Ebay as long as you follow a couple of guidelines

The greater issue is the reduced profit margin in a competitive marketplace, some stores use drop shipping to round out their product line and attract more prospects, even if those items end up being break even it helps in the vital customer acquisition.

There are kind of expensive "certified" supplier databases that include a lot of drop shippers, trust is a big factor when you don't get to inspect the product or any customer stealing literature they could slip in. WorldWideBrands.com is the authority in the field, saleshoo.com (new zealand?) is another.

It's a common business possibility that has become oversaturated in the past 5 years. There are simply far too many dropshippers on eBay for it to be a valid business anymore -- you're better off creating an eCommerce website and putting a **LOT** of time and effort into making it very original and full of unique content, and also having an advertising budget.

Not OK - against ebay's policies. You'll be banned.
