EBay - Is this legit?

1. Never do deals outside of ebay. You will not be covered in the case of loss or scams.

2. Never send it to another country that's not where the person claims to be. e.g. "I'm in the UK but please send it to Africa."

3. It doubt it cost £30 to send a phone, even internationally. If someone is willing to pay over the odds for postage it's usually because they're trying to scam you.

4. Think why would offer so much. There are hundreds of them phones on ebay, many buy it now. Why would they be willing to pay you so much to end an auction?

5. Never take any other form of payment than paypal unless it is cash on collection. Paypal is there to cover you and sadly people like to scam using whatever way they can, especially in deals outside of ebay.

Basically, how it usually works is they will send you a fake Paypal email stating you have been paid. If you check Paypal there may even be a record of a payment. But as soon as you've sent the item that payment will vanish because they never really paid. So you have not only lost the item but have no money either.

Never deal outside of ebay and if it is an expensive item such as this be very careful about people trying to scam. When you do send the phone (through ebay, after making sure the email is real and ebay and paypal state you have been paid) make sure you have any serial numbers written down, make sure you have photos of the item to show the condition and send it special delivery so it can be tracked. I'd also suggest you only send to your country and not internationally as it is an expensive item and there's more chance of something going wrong if you send it internationally.

Always get the money first, if for some reason they decide not to pay its your word verse theirs. On the other hand if you always pay first via paypal or credit mastercard or even a money order you have proof you sent the payment if you have to go to court.

Yes they both sound like something you should stay away from. Contact ebay and tell them what has been said and from who. If you do go ahead and something went wrong then you would not be covered. Let the auction run till the end and see what happens.

The way ebay works, if someone wants the item they make a bid on ebay. What they're doing kind of goes agaisnt ebays rules.

scams. they want your email address so they can send fake "you've been paid" or fake "you need to provide a tracking number in order to collect payment" emails.

ignore them.

stay inside the system or you get NO protection.

Dont deal outside of ebay, as there will be no way of proving transactions etc. if they do eventually scam you. And yes they do seem to go to be true.

Okay, basically I am selling a Samsung Galaxy S2 on eBay. I put it up on auction for £50 starting price with no buy it now, I've had a lot of offers for people to buy the item before it actually ends without bidding. But 2 have really stood out for me. Could somebody tell me if there's any way I could possibly be scammed here, with them having the phone and me having no money. There's two messages.
