Yeah you were offering legal money, but there is this kind of bus etiquette that says you should offer the right money or close to it. Drivers start their shift with a new float at any time of the day so even if its lunchtime he might not have change. That said, he didnt need to be rude to you and you could report him. Here people ask other passengers of they can change the note - you might try that next time?
If the bus driver has rules to not accept bills over a certain amount or return over a certain amount in change, he can't let those people onto the bus.
It's his business, he can do what he wants. If the customer was always right then every business would go out of business
There are rules set up and you have to follow them.
Just a quick question. Earlier today I had some business to do but I needed a bus ride to get there. When the bus arrived, I handed the bus driver 10 eur banknote, however, the driver said in quite an arrogant manner that I have to immediately leave the bus because he's not required to have so much change (the ticket costs 1,10 eur) and that this is my responsibility and to get off the bus, find a store or something and change my money. After I got off, he drove away of course.
My question is, can he do that? I mean, isn't the customer always right? The other thing would be if I refused to pay but this?
