-To Start Selling On eBay You Obviously Need A Verified PayPal Account.
- PayPal Stores Your Personal Information Even If You Close Account.
-If Someone Buys Something From You Then You've To Pay Fee To eBay Depending On The Cost of That Item You Sold. They Always Take Commission.
Proper Ugly Side of eBay
-If For Example You List An Item & If Buyer Complains Item Isn't As Described Or Wish To Return And Never Returns It [Instead Returns Something Else] But Says He/She Returned [Proof On Recorded Delivery] You Still Get The Blame. You'll Have To Pay Back Their Money When They Open Dispute & If You Fail To Do Soo They Will Close Your Account & Pass Your Personal Details To Debt Collection Agency.
The information is all shown in ebays guide to sellers, but basically, in the order you asked ~
YOU decide how much you need for p&P and this is entered on the listing form. There are drop down menu's for you to choose which service you intend using. These charges are on top of the bid price for the item.
There are 2 separate charges, first the 'listing fee' (cost of the advert) which probably will be netween 40p - £1.50 depending upon how many photo's you put up on the listing [you get 1 photo free]. Second charge is called 'final value fee' (auctioneers commission) this is about 10% of the winning bid price. Last, when you get paid via paypal you lose just over 3% as paypals administration fee, think of it as being like Bank charges. All in all you will lose about 15% of the winning bid price. This is pretty much in line with the fee's in ordinary auction houses'.
You need to get a copy of the latest Royal Mail postage charges leaflet and you need to check just what the item is actually going to cost to send, to do this you willneed to weigh it (kitchen scales/bathroom scales should do. For larger or heavier items you may need to use a courier, try parcel2go their website has an instant on line quote service, you put in parcel size and weight and they give you a choice of services/prices.
There is a small insertion fee for each item you list for selling. Also, there is a final fee when your item is sold and this depends on your account (business or private seller). In addition, you can only list limited numbers of items each month. If you can give more details about what are you planning to sell, I can suggest which is better ebay or Amazon. Good luck
when a buy buyers something from you then you'll send it through paypal, they will send you an email saying the money is in you're bank account it will have the buyers name and address
once you have received the payment then you can send the item out to the buy.
If the buyer finds something wrong with the item then he/she has a right to return it example (broken, does not fit etc)
Read the help pages on ebay for new sellers - no point repeating it all here when it's beautifully set out for you there.
always send stuff by recorded post some people will try to lie and say they havent recieved it plus take photos before postage and of item in postage packaging to ensure they dont lie about you sending it in bad condition
Go to Ebay & find out.
